Poem: The gospel truth
I’m the rugged and hard worn gospel truth;
The aged, weather beaten, sun-washed road sign
That reads: Danger Ahead! Slow Down!
And though my estate is dire and desperate
I yet could save a life paying attention.
On the top of my voice I’m screaming
“Wait! Hear me!” but then,
Who is listening?
This mad men buzz past ignoring
Off the cliff and into their ruin!
